Gunna Released From Jail In The Middle of RICO Case

Must read

Rapper Gunna was released from jail Thursday morning after being arrested on charges related to a RICO case.

The rapper’s real name is Sergio Kitchens. He was arrested on May 11, 2022, in DeKalb County, Georgia, on charges of criminal street gang activity and violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).

The arrest was part of an ongoing investigation into a criminal organization police said was responsible for multiple home invasions, robberies, and other criminal activity in DeKalb County. Gunna was reportedly identified as a gang member and was taken into custody by the DeKalb County Police Department.

But he was released from jail on Thursday after posting a $50,000 bond. His lawyer, Michael Sterling, said in a statement that the rapper had been released pending trial and would fight the charges in court.

Sterling said, “Gunna has been released from jail and is relieved to go home to his family and continue to focus on his music career.” “We are confident that he will be found not guilty of all charges and look forward to defending him in court,” added the lawyer.

Gunna is the latest in a string of high-profile arrests related to the RICO investigation. Other suspects include rapper YFN Lucci, who was arrested in December 2020, and rapper Young Thug, who was arrested in January 2021.

The investigation has been going on for several months and widely publicized in the local media. While the charges against Gunna are severe, his lawyer is optimistic that he will be vindicated in court.
